Alana's Complex Reg. Pain Syndrome

Donation protected
Payzli sweet best friend has gotten an appointment to see a specialist in two week and wont be home till December 24th. With insurance not covering the expenses of the doctors appointment, machine, hotel, flight and car; we as friends and family want to help support the healing of Alana! Here is info about her journey...

Back in July Alana was dancing in the living room and sprained her ankle. After several doc appts., 8 x-rays, 2 MRI's and PT she just continued to get worse. The doctors have finally diagnosed her with CRPS(complex regional pain syndrome). This is something she has had since she was born but it has been dormant and we didnt know until the ankle injury which activated the CRPS. After hours of research I have found a Doc in Houston that specializes in treating patients with this disease. Dr. Rhodes has invented a machine called The Vecttor so we will be going to see him this month for a week of treatment then we will get to purchase the machine and bring back to contiune treatment. Of course nothing is covered by insurance but I can not put a price tag on getting my daughter back to her active spunky self. This past week she has had to start using her crutches again, she cant bend her leg or put weight on it. The CRPS leg has started to swell again as well as a redness to it and the pain is past her mid thigh. This Houston trip can not come fast enough. My family has had a crazy few months lately but like we keep saying Avery got her new LIVER(sparkles) and Alana is going to be able to walk again without that boot and crutches so this is going to be the best year!!

CRPS OVERVIEW / DESCRIPTION
CRPS Awareness
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, CRPS, formerly known as RSD Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, is a progressive disease of the Autonomic Nervous System, and more specifically, the Sympathetic Nervous System. The pain is characterized as constant, extremely intense, and out of proportion to the original injury. The pain is typically accompanied by swelling, skin changes, extreme sensitivity, and can often be debilitating. It usually affects one or more of the four limbs but can occur in any part of the body and in over 70% of the victims it spreads to additional areas.

CRPS is ranked as the most painful form of chronic pain that exists today by the McGill Pain Index.
