On Saturday, June 20 my brother-in-law, Alan Winn suffered a massive heart attack. He is currently in a medically induced coma after he was found slumped over in his car which had gone off the road. Alan, a healthy, life-loving family man was playing ultimate frisbee with church friends before he had the heart attack. It took emergency responders 5 minutes of CPR to get a pulse. Alan is currently in ICU in a medically induced coma with his body temperature lowered to minimize brain damage. The next 24 hours will be critical.
Alan was to start a new job on Monday, June 22. He has been out of work since April 2014 and their family currently has no medical insurance.
In 2009 Alan's beloved wife, Joy was diagnosed with breast cancer. During these past 6 years Joy has undergone all that is involved with that - a mastectomy, chemo, radiation and many other related health problems. Throughout these challenging times Alan and Joy have been strengthened and guided by their faith, family and friends but medical bills and unemployment have left them struggling.
Alan and Joy have 4 children. Their eldest recently returned from serving an LDS mission in the Chicago area. Their second just received his mission call.
Please consider any amount that you can donate to help towards medical costs and helping this wonderful, kind, loving family get through this horrific time.
