Alan Quinn LiS (Locked-In Syndrome)

Alan Quinn came home on New Year’s Eve after working a twelve hour shift as a security guard, and suffered a massive brain stem stroke (Basal Ganglia) that has left him diagnosed with LiS (Locked-In Syndrome). At age of 34 Alan’s only able to communicate using eye blinking. LiS is a rare diagnosis that leaves an individual completely conscious in a fully paralyzed body. Much is still unknown about his prognosis but this family’s life will be significantly altered.

More importantly Alan is the devoted husband to Catina and the father to 5 awesome kids, three of whom are still in elementary. Alan has been the sole income provider for their household and will now need 24/7 care going forward.

We are asking for help to cover the cost of their mortgage and any other unforeseen expenses that will arise. No matter what the next course of action is Alan and Catina will continue to rely on God for their source of comfort and strength as they adjust to a life that looks very different.

Alan is a fighter, he has already proven that. Anyone who knows Alan already knows how remarkable he is. His generosity and compassion for others speaks volumes to his character.

Thank you for keeping him in your prayers, giving words of encouragement and for your generosity as they transition into their next phase of life.  Every little bit helps enormously, all donations no matter how small are greatly appreciated. This will be a long process developing a new life. Alan and Catina are reluctant to ask for help, so I am doing it on their behalf. As you can imagine this has been a huge shock and it has put a heavy financial burden on this family.
