Al Huntley -- Long Beach Little League Icon

Donation protected
This fundraiser was created to give back to a Long Beach Little League legend Al Huntley, who devoted 50 years of his life coaching, mentoring and positively impacting the lives of young ballplayers at Stearns Champions Park. Al's tough love coaching style was as unique as his handlebar mustache. He could be found regularly pitching batting practice on a grass patch located on the corner of Stearns and De Ora Way, a territory no other team dared to infringe on. If he wasn't on the mound pitching overhand or underhand for that matter, then he was probably catching batting practice wearing no protective gear other than a face mask.

Sadly, our beloved coach suffered a stroke earlier this year, which has greatly diminished his mobility. He now has difficulty getting up and down his porch stairs and has limited use in his right arm. This fundraiser aims to earn enough funds to build Al a customized wheelchair ramp to give him easier accessibility to maneuver to and from his home. It's our turn to show Al our love and appreciation and to thank him for the countless hours he volunteered to develop generations and generations of youths.
