Since Emily was two years old, she has been battling leukemia.
She has already spent almost 5 years of painful treatment, which as expected has been very difficult to bear, with chemotherapy, surgeries, transfusions, strong medications, a thousand days of hospitalization, and punctures. Lots of punctures!
In the clinical history, there is medullary and extramedullary leukemia.
In her life story, there is a busy and involved family, loving nurses, days in lockdown, hours and hours of trips to the hospital.
How does this story continue?
Some time ago studies confirmed that the disease has progressed, so much so that she no longer responds to traditional treatments. Everything that could be done in Argentina to cure leukemia has already been done. Today there is no possibility of a transplant because it would mean a high risk, plus a high possibility of relapse.
However, researching and looking for a way to help our beloved little one, we found a light. We have hope! There is a new possibility of treatment and, God willing, healing.
At the San Juan de Dios Hospital, located in Barcelona (Spain), the CAR-T treatment can be performed, which includes a new method that has had very good results in other children with a situation similar to Emily's.
We got in touch with the director of the Hospital and her team. They said that Emily's situation is complex, but that they are willing to try to save her.
Today this door of hope opens, the last one we have.
In order to get there, we need to finance the treatment that is enormously beyond our means: More than 600,000 Euros!
We have very little time. Emily's illness progresses. It's a race against the clock, but we don't lose faith: Together we can do it!

Desde que tenía dos años Emily lucha contra la leucemia.
Ya pasaron casi 5 años de un doloroso tratamiento, difícil de soportar con quimioterapia, cirugías, transfusiones, fuertes medicaciones, mil días de internación, y pinchazos. ¡Muchos pinchazos!
En la historia clínica, hay leucemia medular y extramedular.
En la historia de vida, hay una familia ocupada e involucrada, enfermeras amorosas, días encerrados, horas y horas de viajes al hospital.
¿Cómo sigue esta historia?
Hace un tiempo los estudios confirmaron que la enfermedad avanzó mucho y ya no responde a los tratamientos tradicionales. Todo lo que se podía hacer en Argentina para curar la leucemia, ya se hizo. Hoy no hay posibilidad de trasplante.
Sin embargo, investigando y buscando la manera de ayudar a nuestra amada peque encontramos una luz. ¡Tenemos esperanza! Hay una nueva posibilidad de tratamiento y, si Dios quiere, sanación.
En el Hospital San Juan de Dios, ubicado en Barcelona (España), se puede realizar el tratamiento CAR – T, un nuevo método que ha tenido muy buenos resultados en otros niños con una situación igual a la de Emily.
Nos pusimos en contacto con la directora del Hospital y su equipo. Ellos dijeron que la situación de Emily es compleja, pero que van a intentar salvarla.
Hoy se abre esta puerta de esperanza, la última que tenemos.
Para lograr llegar hasta allí, necesitamos financiar el tratamiento que esta enormemente fuera de nuestras posibilidades: Más de ¡600.000 euros!
Tenemos muy poco tiempo. La enfermedad de Emily avanza. Es una carrera contra reloj, pero no perdemos la fe: ¡Juntos podemos lograrlo!
