In Memory of A.J. Pfaltzgraff

Andrew ‘A.J.’ Pfaltzgraff, age 33 of Boone, Iowa died on September 13, 2017.

As one would imagine, dealing with their grief has been very difficult on the family. I'd like to relieve as much of the financial burden as possible. We don't always realize how much of an economic impact something tragic like this can have on a family. There will be a lot of unexpected expenses to cover as A.J. is laid to rest. If you knew AJ or his family, please consider donating to help offset these expenses. All funds donated will be given to A.J.'s sister Jo-el who will make sure they are properly distributed. Jo-el and her husband Matt have been helping her parents make all the arrangements during this difficult time.

I can see still see my nephew's impish grin when he was young. A.J. was a die-hard Packer fan, just like his dad. They were buddies with the tightest father and son relationship. A.J., David, and Jo-el had a sibling bond many would envy. Their family was very close and this tragic loss will be difficult to endure.

A few remembrances of A.J. on Facebook:

"He was a great person and friend. Always cared for others. Always asked me how I was. If I needed anything. If I needed anyone to talk to. I should have been doing the same."

"He was always the kind of guy that would make sure to tell you in person or personally happy birthday instead of posting in some generic FB post with the rest of the world. Such a great guy, and genuine sweetheart."

"He was the best coworker. Always kind, funny and eager to help."

I wonder if A.J. knew how many lives he touched. How much he will be missed. His death is a reminder that life is fragile. We need to treat everyone with kindness for we never know what someone is going through.

A.J. will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to my brother Dave, sister-in-law Kay, nephew David, and niece Jo-el. While a part of them is now missing, A.J. will never be forgotten. He will NOT be forgotten.

Rest in peace A.J.. Rest in peace. ❤️
