Cynthia's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
A few months ago, our classmate from high school and a good friend, Cynthia Garde Mitchell was diagnosed with an Invasive Breast Cancer Stage 3.  She had to undergo a double mastectomy to remove tumors from her left breast and during the procedure, it was discovered that she had more tumors that metastasized to her left lymph nodes.

After the surgery, she started chemotherapy every 2 weeks and is currently on her second set of treatment.  The side effects of chemo is a bit devastating. Nausea, vomiting, and pain are also unbearable, especially after each chemo sessions.  She's been admitted several times to the hospital for chemo-related side effects.

Since then it has been difficult for her to continuously work.  The financial burden is beginning to take its toll, emergency funds, insurance coverages were exhausted to cover the medical bills or day to day expenses.

A single parent, an amazing and loving mother to 3 sons aged 13 and 12-year old twins, Cynthia has to go back to work in order to keep her medical coverage, support her family and earn again to augment the expenses for her medical bills.  Heartbreaking as it is, the side effects of chemo is making it difficult for her to continue working full time to support her family.  She has been positive towards this whole journey no matter how rough it is...never giving up & bravely face the road ahead.  She had been advocating for breast cancer awareness, prevention, cure and early detection. She has bravely come out as a witness that breast cancer or any other illness will not defeat or define her.  Instead hoped that her personal ordeal will raise awareness on the disease & will encourage more women to avail of any breast cancer screenings early to save their lives.

As one of the representatives of our class, we would like to ask for your support and donate for our friend's journey to recovery.  The amount that we are asking will help her with the regular treatment session,  lessen the burden on her medical maintenance and help unexpected emergencies since she is always having a difficult time after a chemo session.

We appreciate any amount that you can share to help her through with this battle against cancer. Thank you for the time you have taken to read this campaign for our dear friend.

You can also send your notes of encouragement, support, and prayers through her facebook page link below.
