Megan's Mission Trip to Guatemala

Hello from BGSU! I am officially at the halfway mark of my senior year and I would like to share with you an exciting opportunity that I have the chance to be a part of this upcoming spring break! But first, I would like to share the impact the past two years had on my life. Through participating in a summer-long leadership training program that took place in Colorado, interning with H2O (H2O is a church I'm involved in), leading a life group, and having many complications with my Crohn’s Disease, God has revealed so much to me. Although these things have been very challenging, there has been great reward from them. God has given me a heart for His kingdom to serve and love His people. I am so thankful for these opportunities, and I cannot wait to see how God is going to continue to work in my life.

Since I can remember, I have always wanted to go on a mission trip to a third world country. H2O is sending a team to Guatemala from March 5th to March 12th, 2018. Possible things that the team will be doing is coming in contact with children and people living at a city dump and a women’s prison, while also visiting an HIV home, an orphanage, and a city of refugees. The team is going to share Christ, to expand worldviews by being exposed to different environments, and to help others who are in need. I am not going to let my fear be bigger than my faith. (I’m in the process of learning to put this into action.) After years of indecisiveness, counseling from family/friends/church staff, and many prayers, I feel secure in my decision to go. And I am pumped to see what the Lord is going to do. But…..

I NEED YOUR HELP! First, can you support me through prayer? Please pray for safety and that the Lord's name is known through our love and service. In addition to prayer, I am in need of financial support. The trip costs $1,850, which includes all of the travel, food, and housing for the week. That is a lot of money. But like I said earlier, I am learning to give my faith more attention than I give my fears. I am hoping to have the finances in by February 15th, 2018. Receiving this support will mean so much to me!
