Airborne and Contact Precaution for Covid 19

We are in a national shortage of personal protective equipment that are required to safely care for Covid-19 patients. This is not a bashing on any one particular hospital but as a country we have not provided enough safe protection to Nurses, Doctors, Housekeepers, Respiratory Therapists, Nurses Aids and other front-line caregivers. When Covid-19 first came to America it was a requirement for nurses to wear Airborne and Contact precautions (including but not limited to N95 masks, gowns, and eye protection). As we have moved into a pandemic the CDC has loosened what is allowed to be worn to protect ourselves because we are almost out of the proper equipment. Without the correct protection we are at risk of spreading the virus to ourselves, our family, and our communities. I am begging for action. We are being requested to use the same mask (one time use masks) multiple times for multiple patients and for multiple days, storing them in bags. We have also been told we will use a less protective mask (surgical mask) instead. And lastly we are being forced to make our own masks! Staying inside away from sick people is protecting you, we need the protection required to stop the spread NOW. My plea to businesses and the government: Please help in making an incentive to make masks and other protective equipment here in the USA with supplies we have. As a Nurse I can promise you I will not stop helping the sick, but I am putting  my life and wellness on the line. Please help me in this was against Covid-19. I am raising money to pay for masks of some type that are Airborne precaution quality. I don’t know who will step up in creating the masks but I’m willing to research the quality of whatever is presented to me.
