My name is Elizabeth Keller, and I am in the Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University studying Aerospace Professional Pilot. In order to finish my time at the Honors College, I must complete an undergraduate thesis. I have chosen to participate in the Air Race Classic this summer!
What is the Air Race Classic? The Air Race Classic is an all women's air race that began in 1929. I will be flying a Cessna 172 Skyhawk more than 2,600 miles across the United States with my co-pilot and friend Madison Taylor (right). This race will be taking place in late June. We depart from Sweetwater, TX on June 19th and must arrive in Fryeburg, ME by June 22nd.
I chose this race as my thesis project because I enjoy a challenge. I also enjoy experience. Experience is the best way to learn in any kind of career field--from a nurse to a teacher, a firefighter to a PILOT. This race is going to push and develop my skills as a pilot.
By donating to this GoFundMe, you will be helping me cover the very expensive cost of this race. I have calculated that I will need about $10,000 in order to fund the entire race. This money will cover supplies such as fuel (the biggest cost), food, hotels, and race fees.
I have loved my time at MTSU and am known to throw myself at anything that involves airplanes. This will be my final, biggest, and last HOORAH before I graduate. I appreciate your time reading this and any help you can provide! :)
