Tasneem est une femme indienne très indépendante.
Elle vit a Mumbai, au bord de l’eau, dans un village de pêcheur qui longe la mer d’Arabie.
Depuis son plus jeune âge, elle travaille et subvient à ses besoins seule. Après des études de design financées par la vente de parfums à la sauvette, elle a ouvert son magasin de vêtement à Mumbai.
8 ans plus tard, elle a été contrainte de mettre la clé sous la porte. Endettée et sans emploi, elle a décidé d’aménager le premier étage de sa maison en logement Airbnb.
Depuis presque quatre ans elle recevait des gens de passage et des touristes, améliorant peu à peu ses prestations, jusqu’à devenir super host. Si la crise du COVID-19 a fortement impacté son activité, c’était sans compter sur les ravages d’une série de cyclones qui ont peu à peu rendu son habitation insalubre, l’empêchant à terme d’accueillir des gens chez elle.
Aujourd’hui, les escaliers menant au premier étage ne sont plus praticables car rongés par la rouille, les murs et plafonds s’effritent à cause d’inondations successives et la tempête a détruit son jardin extérieur.
Elle a donc dû se retirer d’Airbnb, perdant ainsi sa seule source de revenus.
Tasneem fait donc appel à votre solidarité et à votre générosité pour reconstruire sa maison.
La priorité est de reconstruire ses escaliers, puis, progressivement, de pouvoir renforcer les murs fondateurs, réparer les fenêtres cassées par les tempêtes, et enfin de renforcer et de repeindre son intérieur pour le rendre habitable à nouveau, non seulement pour elle et son frère aîné qui souffrent de l’humidité et de l’insalubrité, mais aussi et surtout pour pouvoir reprendre son activité.

Tasneem is a very independent Indian woman.
She lives in Mumbai, on the waterfront, in a fishing village along the Arabian Sea.
From a very young age, she has worked and been providing for herself. After studying design, financed by working aside, she opened her own clothing shop in Mumbai.
Eight years later, she had to close her shop. Indebted and unemployed, she decided to convert the first floor of her house, her room, into an Airbnb accommodation.
For almost four years she had been hosting visitors and tourists, improving her services little by little, until she became a super host. If the COVID-19 crisis had a strong impact on her activity, it was without counting on the ravages of a series of cyclones that gradually made her house unsafe and insalubrious, preventing her from welcoming people in her home.
Today, the stairs leading to the first floor are no longer usable because of rust, the walls and ceilings are crumbling due to successive floods and the storm destroyed her outside garden.
As a result, she had to withdraw from Airbnb, losing her only source of income.
Tasneem is therefore appealing to your solidarity and generosity to rebuild her house.
The priority is to rebuild her stairs, then, progressively, to be able to reinforce the founding walls, repair the windows broken by the storms, and finally to reinforce and repaint her interior to make it habitable again, not only for her and her older brother who suffer from humidity and unhealthiness, but also and above all to be able to resume her business.
