Aid to Expresso Bakery!

February 19, at approximately 9 AM, a car sped down the road and slammed into the bakery at 65 mph. Almost all of the bakery’s equipment, including ovens, fryers, and other important appliances, were warped and destroyed. The wall was blown in, and an employee was pinned between the counter in the wall, breaking her ankle. Thanks to some brave customers who pried her leg free while gas filled the building, she was OK. Thankfully, nobody was killed. This bakery makes everything from scratch, nothing is frozen, they come in around 6 PM and leave at three in the morning almost every day. And they serve delicious baked goods and coffee to Elyria. Expresso Bakery is the great fireplace around which Elyria gathers for warmth and friendship. It’s like “Cheers,”where everybody knows your name. Now this business, which closed for six weeks during the pandemic, is faced with exorbitant costs associated with this damage. Insurance will only be able to cover so much. Let’s show this great business how much we love and support them, and help them get back on their feet to return to what they do best: delivering light, warmth, and delicious treats for Elyria!
