This page is set up for Alicia and her family . Alicia is a very hard worker and waitresses at Casa Herrera in the evenings and cleans homes during the day. During the past three weeks she has been struck with two terrible accidents. As the link above shows, her son Diego Olvera Barajas, 20 of Abilene was killed two days ago in a motorcyle accident. This has been very difficult both emoptionally and financially. In addition to this event, less than three weeks ago, the familys daughter was also struck with misfortune when she was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider that caused an almost fatal reaction. She had to be hospitalized and treated for an extended period due to her extremly bad reaction to the bite. That event and now the death of her oldest son has put not just an emotional burden but a very bad financial one on the family. The family is currently paying and owes more than $20,000 for the daughters medical treatment. The funeral cost that they are arranging will also add to the financial burden. This money will be given to the family to help with the funeral and anything extra will be used to pay medical bills.Alicia is a great employee, friend, neighbor and person. We hope the Abilene community can rally around her and help these tragic events become a little more manageable in a financial manner.
