My name is Tanner. I am 14 years old, I've been studying Karate @ Dojo Karate in Monticello,Minnesota for the last 4 years and currently working on my 2nd degree black belt. I also play Football and Wrestle for St. Michael/Albertville School District. I will be starting my Freshman year at St. Michael/Albertville High School this Fall.
I am starting this Campaign in the hope of getting funds to help me travel to Dublin, Ireland in October of this year to compete in an International Karate Tournament. I've worked hard within the past year to qualify for the Team USA and be invited to compete in Dublin representing the United States. I had to qualify regionally to be invited to Spar nationally for the spot. There were 11 regions within the United States that competed in the Nationals in Dearborn, Michigan. I qualified nationally and took 2nd place in my age Division for Sparring (13-15yo) Currently, there are 24 countries that will be competing in Dublin, Ireland this Fall.
This is a once in a life time opportunity for me to compete internationally representing the United States. I will be able to meet different people from around the world, gain friendships through this Martial Arts Competitions, experiencing the food and culture of Ireland, learn about other cultures, and most importantly to be able to represent the United states. It will be an experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life.
