Skylar's Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Thank you for looking at our page,

For those of you that don’t know, our daughter, Skylar, was born with an Atrial Septal defect (a hole) in her heart. What this means is that the oxygenated blood gets pumped back to her lungs instead of to her muscles and organs. IF it remains unrepaired her growth will be hindered and she will always be sicker and smaller with long term problems including (but not limited to) congestive heart failure. Unfortunately, due to the location of the hole, she will have to have the most invasive procedure - open heart surgery with a hospital stay of a minimum of 5 days. This surgery is scheduled for July 18th and will be performed at Duke’s medical centers.

If anyone would like to donate we would greatly appreciate any financial support we can get in covering this major medical expense. We honestly don’t know if this goal is attainable but we do know any and all of the contributions we receive will really help to assist us in covering the cost of her surgery and stay in the hospital. Any amount you feel comfortable donating or can afford will help to make a big difference in handling these expenses and allow us to focus more on Skylar.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will keep everyone posted on her surgery and her recovery.
