Help with Little Gabriel's Vet Bills

This little guy has had a tough start.  Estimated to be about 5 weeks old, Gabriel wondered out of a nearby alley as church was dismissing one Sunday.  Luckily, he was discovered by a caring good samaritan who scooped him up and saved him.  She could tell instantly, though, that something was wrong.  After giving him a much needed bath, as he was filthy and covered with fleas, she brought him to us at Kiski Valley Cat and Kitten Rescue.  We recognized immediately that Gabriel has a physical birth deformity of his back legs causing them to bend backwards and be largely unusable.  His left back leg is much more deformed, but the paw on his right back leg is bent back.  This has caused him to develop sores and calluses on this less-deformed right back leg from trying to walk on the bent paw and dragging the left leg.  
        Gabriel has such a wonderful personality.  The entire time he has been poked, prodded and assessed by veternarians for his medical needs, he has never stopped purring.  He seems to have to idea that his legs are injured as he will always try to come to you to climb on your lap and cuddle.  We think that the rest of his life should not be as rough as his first 5 weeks.  Unfortunately, the surgery to fix his legs is very expensive and our shelter, just as most shelters across the nation, are over-crowded and underfunded.  All donations will help us to let Gabriel play and be the kitten he should be while allowing us to continue the care we must provide to the 200+ other cats who also call the shelter home.
