Hi! My name is Naomi Hutchinson and I am 16 years old and I have been dancing since the age of 3. On June 7th, my dance company named me: “Studio 61 Dancer of the Year 2014-15”. Receiving this award was such an honor and another affirmation that dancing is what I was born to do. My career goal is to own/operate an incredible dance studio!
I am writing to ask your assistance in getting to my career goal. Next month (July 3-9), my dance company will participate in the Intrigue Dance Nationals. I want to participate as well, but I do not have the $2700 needed to attend. Costs include registration, travel, housing and meals. Unfortunately, I am $2,000 short. If you can, please consider assisting me in making up my shortfall. Dancers in my company have offered to help by having a car wash fundraiser.
Intrigue Nationals is a weeklong dance convention and competition. Dance studios from all over the U.S. that have gone to Intrigue's regional conventions and competitions attend Nationals. We take classes all day from well-respected choreographers who have trained in L.A. and New York and we compete at night. Intrigue also offers great scholarship opportunities from apprenticeships with the Intrigue faculty to free classes at the Broadway Dance Center in New York.
Intrigue Dance Nationals takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Disney World and runs from July 3-9, which is also the week of my birthday. This, in turn, would make me being able to attend Nationals all the more special.
