Help Maya Get to Barcelona

Hi family,friends, and supporters! I hope all is well!! I want to thank you so much for continuously supporting me through my time at Exeter. I have attached a video that I put together to bring you up to date on my recent activities and involvement! The biggest thing is that this summer, I was accepted and extended a full scholarship to Oxbridge Academic Programs at La Academia de Barcelona or the Barcelona Academy. This is an amazing program because I will have access to the top professors in the world. I will be instructed by professors from the two oldest universities in the English-speaking world- The University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford! At this program, I will be taking a language and culture course along with a course in international politics. This is perfect for me, seeing as though my dream is to become an ambassador or foreign diplomat between a Spanish speaking country and the United States. The only problem I am currently facing is getting there! I have put in the work to be accepted and be a part of the 7% of applicants that received any aid! It would be a tragedy if I would not be able to accept this once in a lifetime opportunity solely based on travel conflicts due to the lack of funds. With the changes in my mother’s employment and ongoing hospitalization of my maternal grandfather, resources have been scarce. I really hope I don’t have to miss out on an opportunity such as this due to factors outside of my control! I am asking you for your help! International airfare is running between $1500 and $2000. ANYTHING you can contribute would be greatly appreciated! I am suppose to depart on July 4, so I need to by my plane ticket by the end of this weekend, beginning of next week at the latest. Every little bit counts! Whatever you can do will truly be the make it or break it factor! I am hopeful that you will help me capture my dreams!
