My name is Jack Monteiro, and I'm a Sales Manager for Olive Garden in College Station Texas. I have several friends and teammates here in College Station that want to help the flood victims in Texas, with the ability to transport much needed items to people in need. Hurricane Harvey has devastated the Texas coast and we have an obligation to help others in need. We have organized a plan to get supplies to local churches and shelters affected by Hurricane Harvey. We live only 100 miles away from Houston, and an hour or two from other smaller communities that have been wiped out by this disaster; we have to do something to help.

We are driving supplies down to small towns near Houston and BBVA Compass Stadium, which is a distribution point for donations in the Houston area, on Monday, Sept 18th. The officials there will then route our donated supplies to the shelters and people in greatest need. This time frame allows us purchase goods to replenish items depleted this week, as well as allow for local helpers (Remember Mr. Rogers-- he said in times of disaster, look for the helpers?) time to collect other items for delivery. We will continue to deliver goods as long as we recieve them too!

As a father of a two-year old, I thanked God many times this weekend that my son is safe; but there are so many parents who now worry that their children may not have clean water, food, diapers, housing, etc. We are focused on helping those babies of the flood; and so we are raising money to get diapers (all sizes), baby wipes, baby/toddler clothes, toothbrushes, tooth paste, socks and underwear, blankets, towels, crayons and paper, etc. for families with children. We are focused on helping our brothers and sisters in Texas,  most of all the babies. We are working with getting other businesses to match a donation for up to $1,000.00. Please help those in need. If you don't have anything to donate, that's okay, just don't forget that the next time you see a person in need, show them kindness, and respect. Please spread the word and post what we are doing.  Thank you all and God bless!!

Update: we surpassed our goal in one day! Thank you! We are going to raise the total to $2000, with the hopes that we can fill TWO truckloads. We will continue to raise funds until we take the truck down, and will continue to update you on our progress. Remember, the money we raise goes straight into getting the supplies down to where they are needed. There are no 'administrative needs' here.
