Agent Mauer

Hey there, I'm Chris and I'm trying to raise money for the beautiful Agent Mauer. This is my first time doing this, so here's hoping I did it right; please bear with me if it's sloppy or weird, and I appreciate your time.

Agent Mauer, pictured here, has Lymphoma, an aggressive cancer of the white blood cells, as I understand it at least. She's three years old, and she's been through Hell and back with this stuff, and she absolutely deserves so much better. She endured six weeks of chemotherapy, but it was not effective in getting her cancer into remission, so she's now been enrolled in Angell Animal Medical Center's excellent radiation treatment program in Boston. This, I'm told, is the gold standard treatment for cats with this type of cancer, as it allows for very localized treatment of a very localized cancer, at least when it's present within cats. We are beyond pleased that Mauer is more than likely going to be ok, and that we could get her the help she needs to survive, and Angell is a truly amazing facility.

With that being said, this radiation treatment is not cheap, as I'm sure you can imagine. Angell has been amazing in procuring funds to help us out, and I immensely appreciate them for that, but the treatment is still expensive. I've never asked anyone for money before, so I feel a bit conflicted about this, but she's more than worth it. My credit card is nearly maxed out, and I don't have a single regret about it, but we just moved to Maine from WA state, and of course as soon as we got here we prioritized getting Mauer her treatment, and then the house we just bought essentially started becoming a money pit. The pipes burst in the ceiling, the plumbing, (we just found out), is out of code and needs to be completely redone, electrical work needs to be done throughout the house, and of course the basement and attic needs to be completely redone.

I don't know how to word this any better. I love this cat more than I can put into words. She is sweet beyond belief, and her greatest joy in life is sitting on your chest and purring, and she's not above kissing your forehead to wake you up in the morning. She is loved, completely and totally. I would have spent any amount of money to save her, and the money I'm requesting here isn't necessarily to save her life. I've already spent the money, and I would have never considered not spending it, it wasn't an option for me. Mauer's going to be fine, and I'm so thankful for that. Now, however, I have to reckon with the debt incurred from the combination of her six weeks of chemotherapy, her biopsy on her nose tumor, the multiple other surgeries, her radiation treatment, and her cat scan. She's so worth every penny, but I also have a ten year old daughter, a wife, another cat, and another dog. I love them all, and I honestly don't know how I'm going to pay this debt down.

I guess I'm just asking for a little help getting back on our feet with our little girl, hopefully soon to be cancer free, (well, cancer in remission), in just three weeks. I understand if you can't at this time, and I don't know you so why would you help me right? Hey, I get it man, times are tough and you need to look after you and your's. Please don't donate if it's going to cause any undue hardship at all, as I would never want that. Hell I appreciate you just taking the time to look at this seriously, and thanks for stopping by if you did, I'd buy you a coffee if I could. If you don't mind though, and it doesn't cause you any undue stress or hardship, anything you can do to help would be immensely appreciated, beyond my ability to communicate with words. Thanks so much for your time, and I hope you and your's are staying safe and healthy.
