As Captain Herb Emory's niece and goddaughter I wanted to continue his heartfelt efforts to help others. While I am no where near the kind of person he was, I aim to be more like him everyday. I started the Captain Herb Memorial Fund to raise money for some of those who my uncle was passionate about helping. While I am starting out small, my hopes are to be able to expand the fund and help a wide variety of people. This year my goal is to rasie money for the Douglas County Animal Shelter and The Share House. Every year around Christmas Capt. Herb and I would put together Christmas bags for the women and children at The Share House. My uncle was a strong believer in giving to and helping others. He taught me as a little girl that no matter how much you have you can always help someone; whether it be something as simple as a few kind words, you can still make a difference. I look forward to continuing his efforts, even though it will not be the same without him. I ask that you help me achieve my goal in continuing the legacy my uncle left behind, every donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
