Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate surrounded by your loved ones. This Thanksgiving my family is celebrating that my father is still alive. After what was meant to be a rather minor surgery with a 3 week recovery time he has been transferred to Tampa General hospital where doctors and nurses are working together to fight what became our worst nightmare in a matter of 2 weeks. He was released from the hospital with what doctors and nurses are now saying was inadequate care and deep incisions turned rapidly into a severe infection that has now spread throughout his body. He will still have a great deal of recovery time to face when he is able to return home. Right now we are unsure of how long he will remain in the care of the team of doctors and nurses at the hospital. My family is working hard to ensure that when he returns home, his house is in much better condition to prevent any further trauma and infection from occurring again. Doctors have recommended that he get a new chair that can recline and elevate his body. Among many other repairs to his home, this is relatively minor but one that is needed immediately when he returns. I have never done anything like this but I am hoping that those who know and care for my dad who have asked how they can help might see this and wish to donate whatever they can. My dad is an amazing man and I know he will get through this and return to the comfort of his own home soon! ❤️❤️
