Help Tasheena Fight Breast Cancer

Hello everyone! My name is Jasmine and I am Tasheena’s best friend. I am writing this on behalf of Tasheena and her family.
2021 was meant to shine much brighter for everyone, we were hopeful because of the depressingly chaotic 2020 year we had, however; this “New Year” for Tasheena, and her directory took a dark turn. Tasheena was due to start her preceptorship in General Medicine and begin her dream career of becoming a nurse. In January she felt a lump in her left breast and decided to get it examined which led to ultrasounds, mammograms and biopsies. Unfortunately, at the end of February she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer - it has spread to her lymph nodes in her axillary and she also has grade 3 DCIS which is extensive, reaching 11cm across her left breast tissue.
During treatment, there are financial expenses that I would like to help fundraise for my best friend, as this disease and treatment may greatly affect her life in the next few years; medication costs, living expenses (basic needs such as gas, parking, groceries, etc.), and fertility treatments (IVF). As mentioned, this past year has been a global struggle and battle for everyone, fighting for happiness, living in fear, hoping for certainty… Any, and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.
Tasheena will begin an aggressive form of chemotherapy, called FEC-D, over the next 6 months. This treatment is going to leave her with total hair loss, sickly, fatigued, and drained physically, mentally, and spiritually. Tash has started her scheduled chemotherapy therapy Monday, March 8, 2021 - to be accompanied by a mastectomy of her left breast, followed by radiation treatments 5 days a week. Chemotherapy will reduce Tasheena’s fertility by 50% (this has been the most devastating piece of information for her). Harvesting and freezing eggs are not an immediate option, as she would have to prolong her treatments… on top of desperately attempting to scrounge up monetary means by summoning 15-35k… on a nurse student’s budget. This GoFundMe is to help with Tasheena’s living expenses as she is unable to work her serving job moving forward, which was her only source of income prior to her diagnosis (not to mention the heartbreak of not physically being able to finish her nursing degree). Secondly, these funds would contribute towards fertility treatments, and obviously, and just as importantly - to help with Tash’s future medical treatments. Tash’s GoFundMe will help her by alleviating some of the stress during this life-altering obstacle she has to endure.
Urgency is paramount… Tasheena became aware of her diagnosis merely 3 weeks ago… If anyone on this planet deserves to be a mother; it is my best babe, Tasheena - full stop. Above all, it is the possibility of not being able to be a mum that is absolutely devastating to her. It is a strange experience looking into the eyes of a loved one who is scared for their life… when they are one of the people you turn to when you are uncertain. Those of you who know Tasheena, know she is full of life, a belly full of laughter, and radiates love… no hypothetical child should be deprived of that, let alone the mother that I know Tasheena will be.
