Dear Facebook Family & Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this request for assistance as I never thought I would find myself in a position like this. After having endured a long journey of rebuilding my health in the past few years after the passing of my beloved parents from cancer and stroke and for whom I was a caretaker for almost 2 years, and a series of tremendous, unavoidable financial debt was incurred as a result, I had to file for bankruptcy. So, it was with joy & excitement, I moved to Chicago almost a year ago for a wonderful job opportunity in the service non-profit arena.
In the last few months, I became very ill due to an autoimmune condition, severe anemia and a growth in the uterus (that has further advanced). A few forms of conventional treatments by my doctor were attempted but I experienced such an adverse reaction that it debilitated me further and worsened my condition. As a result, I was placed on medical leave and will be undergoing further treatments, but it will be holistic in nature as my doctor and I explore the best method that would suit my condition and ultimate path to healing which will need to start as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this has all caused a severe wave of financial stress as insurance will not cover holistic therapies.
I will be leaving Chicago in October and returning back home but in the meantime need adequate funds to provide for my necessities (including my current living space that has me tied to a lease until October), a move and my holistic treatments for the remainder of this year. I am currently in a crisis situation as I need the means to survive here for the next several months and provide for my health. I ardently hope to begin a new chapter of my life with new possibilities where I am thriving health wise and paying it forward in being of service to others.
