Hi everyone! My name is Samantha Bankey and I am competing in the 2015 MISS MICHIGAN USA pageant. I'm super excited for this new endeavor, and would love your support.
I was recently assigned the title Miss Hockeytown USA! As a HUGE Detroit Red Wings fan, this is an honor in itself (even though the Red Wings nor any official Hockeytown brands endorse me). In my opinion, I have the best title of them all!
First, a little about me.
I grew up in Romulus (aka where Metro Airport is). After graduating from Romulus High School in 2009, I pursued an undergraduate degree at Ferris State University, where I now hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, majoring in Public Relations. I'm proud to have grew up, go to school, and continue to live in Michigan. I'm especially proud to support Detroit; I could have found a career in Chicago or New York, but I have faith in this place I call "home" and I want to be a part of our comeback. I now have a full-time career at a digital marketing + technology agency in Metro Detroit. I absolutely love my job and the people I get to interact with every day.
My First Pageant and My Next Challenge
I know you're wondering, "Sam, if you love your job and have never competed in a pageant before, why MISS MICHIGAN?"
I have been searching and asking God for a new challenge in life. I wasn't sure if it was picking up a new hobby, asking for more responsibilities at work, getting a pet, or something else. Pageants always interested me - whether it was watching them on TV or just reading about contestants. After watching MISS USA, I heard one of the contestants say that her first pageant she competed in was the one for her state; she won and advanced to the national pageant.
I'm definitely not perfect, but I've always wanted to inspire girls and other women out there that anything is achievable - even if you aren't a star athlete, homecoming queen, or your class valedictorian. No matter the imperfection, you should always carry yourself with pride and confidence. Everybody is beautiful in their own, unique way. Sounds cliche, but that's something I really believe in. Now is my chance to inspire girls all around the beautiful state of Michigan.

This sponsorship will get you a personal thank you card and a very "sweet" gift basket sent to your home.
$100 - Congeniality Sponsorship
This sponsorship would be great for schools, churches, and other community organizations. As a thank you for your $100 sponsorship, I will not only send you a personal thank-you card and gift basket, but I will speak about any appropriate topic in your classroom, at your youth group, or any other event for one hour.
