Support for Adria: Restoring Her Sight & Finding Answers

As some of you may know, we recently discovered that our sweet Adria is blind in her left eye due to dense cataracts. Unknown to us, these cataracts have been there, worsening, for what we believe started somewhere in 2023. Her vision is worse than 20/500 and lacks depth perception.

Adria is scheduled for surgery this February to receive a prosthetic lens. Thankfully, because the cataracts are not believed to have been present from birth, she has an excellent chance of recovering her vision! However, it’s highly unusual for only one eye to be affected without any known trauma. As a result, her doctors are deeply concerned and will continue investigating the underlying cause in the months to come. Some potential causes are quite serious, so we can’t afford to leave any stone unturned. Our hope is that the cataracts don’t return or manifest into something more severe. This surgery is only the beginning of her journey.
