Hello!
I am Adrianna Gros, and I am a candidate with the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. Will you help me in my journey to Carmel?
The road to candidacy has been filled with joy, friends, education, and prayers. Coming out of high school, I knew I had a desire for religious life, but had no plan. Not knowing of any religious orders, I began college in 2014 and graduated with my Bachelor's in the Science of Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May of 2018.
During my freshman year, I met a sister that radiated joy and wore the brown habit of Carmel. It was similar to my favorite saint, Therese, but this sister was not in the cloister. She was witnessing to the deep love of Jesus in the world.
Over the next couple years of college, I began to visit the sisters in California. I knew right away that I desired to stay in Carmel. I discerned that it would be wise to finish my degree before applying. The sisters work in the apostolates of healthcare, education, and retreat work, so my degree would be of help in service of the order.
Through these four years of knowing the sisters and growing in prayer, I have learned we do not walk alone in our journey to eternity. I firstly need your prayers for perseverance in discerning God's will for my life. I have been receiving prayers, love, and support in abundance, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Secondly, I have to pay off my debts if I am to move forward from candidacy to postulancy. This next year I will be working as a registered nurse and contributing to paying of my loans, but I want to ask for help, your help. Please consider donating, even if it is only a small amount.
