As you may or may not know, I’m presently a sophomore at American Heritage School. In the past 2 years, I have sprung a passion for Marching and Concert band. At the moment, I play bass drum, tenors, snare, cymbals, , classical guitar and electric guitar.
Last month I was accepted for membership in the Colt Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. Each year they accept 95 members from Iowa and throughout the United States. I was selected after the first audition from nearly 200 students who were considered for membership. The Colts Drum & Bugle Corps is a non-profit educational youth organization, chartered by the State of Iowa and the IRS as a 501(c)(3) corporation. The Colts have been fostering values of self-discipline, loyalty, commitment and teamwork since 1963. The summer tour lasts approximately 60 days (yes thats 2 months without seeing my parents) during which the drum corps will travel over 5,000 miles throughout the United States (Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minesota, Missouri, Kansas, and Wisconsin), participating in performances and competitions. Each member of the corps is responsible for a tuition and fee payment of $1,550 to cover the cost of transportation, lodging, meals, instruction, equipment and uniforms. I will also need to cover my airfare from Fort Lauderdale to Iowa. My dues are due by June 1. I hope you will consider lending a hand to make my membership a reality. I appreciate any donation amount and I know I won't let you down. Below is my sponsor letter from the Colt Cadets. I can also accept American Airlines miles by sharing to my account 9LD8D4. If you would like additional info regarding sponsoring, please contact the Executive Director by reviewing the sponsor letter link below.
Sincerely, Adrian A. Gonzalez
