Bushfire support for the Adornos
Donation protected
One of our member families, Genevieve Adorno and Children lost their home in the bushfires at Scotsburn on Saturday 19th December.
They extend a huge thank you to the firefighters who risked their lives to try to save the house and they count themselves lucky to be safe and as well as could be expected.
Their immediate needs for shelter and food are covered, but they have lost everything.
Coming just before Christmas, this has been a huge upheaval for the children and Gen is doing her best to keep things as normal as she can for the five children whilst living in a cabin with all their familiar things gone.
Daughter Lauren had her birthday just three days after the fire but there was not much of a celebration. Sixteen-year-old Alex starts music school next year and recently received a good guitar which has now been lost. Jacob and Noah miss their Lego and Mixels and Lauren her books and tools while one-year-old Will is just confused by his sudden relocation.
As home educators, they have lost all their books and resources along with all their household goods.
The Home Education Network is a non-profit organisation of homeschooling families who support each other. As a community, we would like to help the Adornos make this a brighter Christmas for the children and a positive start to rebuilding their lives.
All funds will go directly to the family to put towards books, toys and other essential items. Please help us to help the Adornos recover.
