Adele's Spring Break Trip to DC

As a single mom I do everything I can do to provide Adele with everything that she needs and often I can give her someof the things that she wants. However, some of the educational opportunities I have wanted for her are out of reach.
This year her school is taking an educational trip to Washington DC. Adele is very excited and really wants to go explore our capitol and learn more about our country. She initially brought home the paperwork I asked her if this was something she wanted to do and her reply broke my heart. "Mom, I can't go on this trip, we can't afford it." I asked her "What if we could?" and she said "of course I want to go!"
So I went to the informational meeting and researched their scholarship. I really thought we could get her trip paid for but sadly they only offered us $290 out of the $2500 trip and the trip is non refundable. If you aren't able to pay it off in time you loose whatever you have put toward the trip.
You may be wondering why a trip to DC costs so much. I certainly was. The organization that is handling the trip is called World Strides you can check them out here: www.worldstridesdiscovernow.org . Since they are working with unaccompanied minors they need to not only have a tour guide, but several chaperones on the trip. They rent a tour bus and have a driver for the kids. Also, they must pay for insurance so that students are covered in case of injury or medical emergency. The price does include airfare, hotel, meals and transportation.
My roomie Erica and I worked with both Ian and Adele on a bake sale. They each raised $100 toward their trips. While this is great we would need to sell cookies all day everyday to get them to DC.
That's where you come in. You can help make Adele's trip a reality. In return, you will know that you are making a real difference in a child's education and her future. Whatever you can pitch in will help!
