Adderley's Medical Fund!

Tax deductible
Sweet Adderley was found this past summer crammed in a cage, left outside in the Tennessee heat with no access to food or water along with now PupStarz alum Reanna.

She was scared and hungry - and little did we know really sick.  So sick that her heart would not be strong enough to keep the almost 1-year old alive to see adulthood unless she had life-saving surgery.

As part of her pre-surgical spay appointment, it was noted that she had a high-grade heart murmur. This is unusual in such a young dog, and it was recommended that she see a cardiologist.

That is when we learned how sick Adderley was.

The Cardiologist diagnosed Adderley with PDA. PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) is an abnormal vessel that connects two large arteries, right next to the heart: the pulmonary artery and the aorta. This was something that she was born with, but if not fixed she surely would not live the long happy life she so deserved.

When we commit to rescuing a dog, we commit to do all we can for them – even if that means an $11,000 surgery, so that is exactly what we did.

On November 11th Adderley had surgery. The hope was to proceed with a non-invasive route, but the attempt was not successful because her arteries were too small, so on November 13th Adderley underwent invasive surgery to save her life.

Even though her recovery will be longer than we anticipated, the surgery was a success, which means that this beautiful 1-year old girl will go on to live the life she so deserves.

Now is the time that we ask you for your help in paying Adderley bills.

We have spent over $20,000 this month on Adderley and Pinky (the sweet LIC cat who was hours away from death when we finally got to her), combined and we are struggling to recover.

Please donate to Adderley or sharing her story. You can help us continue to say yes and fund the surgeries and medical care for deserving pups and kitties who would otherwise die in the streets of be euthanized in shelters – just like Adderley.

We are 100% volunteer-run and every dollar you donate directly supports our rescues, so please consider donating or sharing our story today.

On behalf of PupStarz, we thank you from the bottom of our paws.
