Ada needs your support for surgery!

Ada is our sweet, happy, and full of life 4-year-old puppy! At 10 months old, we were told by her vet that she suffers from hip dysplasia.  Canine hip dysplasia happens when the ball and socket do not fit or develop properly, and they rub and grind instead of sliding smoothly. This results in deterioration over time and an eventual loss of function of the joint itself.  After this news, it was our understanding that we could be proactive (weight management, keep her muscles healthy, etc.) and surgery may never be needed.

Last week, we took Ada to a new vet for her yearly physical. When examining her, he noticed she had adecreased range of motion and her hip was “clicking.” He ordered updated x-rays. A few days later we dropped her off for her x-rays expecting to just hear that we need to continue to feed her the proper food, not take her on long extensive walks and that everything was the same.  However, we received some devastating news. Not only did Ada’s left hip have no socket and extreme arthritis, but her right hip was not much better. We also learned that Ada will need surgery on both of her hips due to arthritis and her current hip structure.  The initial quotes we have gotten would bring her medical bills to $10,000. Any funds we raise will go directly to her her surgical bills and rehabilitation.

As many of you know, Ada is full of life, full of joy, and provides everyone she meets so much happiness! In a year like this, when we are always looking for the good in our day, Ada is it. To know that without these surgeries, she could be in pain daily even with the help of medication is heartbreaking. We have no other choice but to give her the best chance to live her best life. We want her to continue to love enjoy her beach walks, be able to go on hikes again without any worries, but most importantly, enjoy her day to day life without any discomfort. 

We both work multiple jobs already and the financial burden of paying for these two surgeries is the reality we face now.  Any help you can provide, we would be eternally grateful for it!
