Seeking Sunshine For Lisa

We are initiating the Seeking Sunshine fundraiser to help Lisa as she prepares for her kidney transplant. These funds will help Lisa bridge the gap between what health insurance will cover and what she will need to heal, live and thrive.
Lisa has been living with Type I Diabetes since she was 24 months old. Today Lisa is desperately seeking sunshine as she deals with the side effects of living with this incurable disease for more than 36 years. She is courageously fighting end stage renal disease and is waiting for a kidney transplant.
She has tackled this challenge with her typical spunk, keeping her head held high as she has dealt with one setback after another. Lisa is currently undergoing dialysis while working full time and being a 'mama' to her four-legged kids. We know that every storms runs out of rain and we are seeking sunshine for Lisa!
We expect that Lisa's health insurance will pay for a good portion of her surgery, along with the expenses for her donor's surgery. Out of pocket costs will include co-pays and deductibles, travel expenses to North Carolina, expenses for her caregivers and other out of pocket expenses as she recovers from the surgery.
After the transplant drug costs are significant and Lisa will be on these drugs forever. The costs can be up to $3500 per month and will be covered up to 80% by Medicare Part B for up to 3 years.
All proceeds generated by Seeking Sunshine will go to Lisa to develop a trust that is setup to help her in the day, months and years ahead.
