Actualizing my Dreams of Becoming a Social Worker
In the age of COVID, requests and need for diverse and trauma focused social workers for the marginalized are at an all time high.
Teachers have done a lot to deal with their debt, and as a low income Queer and Non Binary Trans Black Radical Educator who taught in low income Black schools, I have not been shielded from that in the slightest.
I believe in my capacity to achieve anything I put my mind to, yet I cannot afford to take on much more debt while obtaining my Clinical Social Work degree.
I am pursuing this degree so that I may become a trauma and PTSD centered therapist focusing on the Black LGBTQIA community, of which I am a part.
I have raised my goal amount to reflect the financial support I need to complete a Masters program at the acclaimed Social Worker Graduate Program to which I am enrolled. The goal amount also reflects the financial support I require as a disabled individual.
With intentional action, donating and sharing this page widely will allow me to reach my goal amount.
I believe in the necessity and power of Black low income individuals achieving their dreams so that they may know financial stability and find a life full of meaning.
with Gratitude always,
Tie
