Acts 247 Men's Discipleship House

Tax deductible
Acts 247 Recovery Church exists to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ FULLY transform the lives of those who have struggles with Addiction, Homelessness, and Incarceration.

Over the last four years we have witnessed hundreds of people experience freedom from such struggles through the ministry of Jesus Christ. He came to seek and to save the lost!

We praise God for the work that He is doing in our city; on the streets, in treatment centers, and behind the walls of the prisons. As we have pushed into these areas of brokenness it has become very apparent that those who are trying to walk in freedom and newness of life often experience great setbacks when it comes to the area of transitioning back into society. Over and over again we have witness Jesus draw people to himself inside these various institutions, only to find that when they leave the jail, the shelter, or the treatment center, they have nowhere to go.

Jesus says in Matthew 25:35-40, "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

Clearly, Jesus is calling us as His church to step into these places of brokenness, so that we can display the love of Christ to our city.

With that being said, we feel called by God to open up a Discipleship House to help men transition back into society. We will welcome men from prisons, treatment centers, and shelters who have a desire to follow Jesus as He leads them into Resurrection Life!

Unfortunately, we received word a few weeks back that the Salvation Army Men’s Rehabilitation Center will be closing down on June 20th. This is a major setback for our community.  The Salvation Army Men's Rehabilitation center is the only free, Christ-Centered, treatment center in our city.

We are hopeful that this house will provide much needed structure and refuge for these men who are very uncertain about their future. We also hope that the Acts 247 Discipleship House is the first of many houses of hope for men and women reentering back into society.

With that being said, we are on a pretty short time crunch. We need to purchase and move a lot of items into the house over the next WEEK!!!

We are in need of lots of prayer and financial support. We believe this is an incredible opportunity to fill a huge need, not only for the men at the Salvation Army, but for many men and women to come in the future.

God bless you and thank you for you for your prayers and financial contribution.
