Please help my family

Hi, I’m Alaina, and I would like to ask for your help. My family owns Atlantic City Sub Shops located on Tilton Road in Egg Harbor Township. My stepmom, Noelle, broke her ankle last week. It happened outback of our business due to the snow and ice not being properly removed. Noelle broke her ankle in 3 places and dislocated it. She needs surgery and will not be able to work. This is very upsetting to me because her and my dad are the main people who keep our business open and running. I help out after school and on the weekends, but with Noelle not being able to work, I don’t know what they are going to do.

My parents told me that because of Noelle’s upcoming surgery, we would have to close for two-four weeks so she could heal. Hopefully, when that time passes, she will be able to return and help enough to get through each shift. It makes me worried that the loss of income from not being open and the burden of medical bills will have a devastating impact on our lives.
Noelle truly deserves your help. She is always the strong one and does everything for everyone around her. I would love to raise enough on here to help her, my family, and our business.
In addition to Noelle’s medical bills, the money raised will go towards our fixed monthly expenses to help ensure our business can remain open.

Noelle is the shining face of the sub shop, all the customers ask for her, and she LOVES to talk to everyone who comes in. She especially loves to talk about Disney - it’s her favorite place in the entire world. The customers don’t see all the work Noelle does behind the scenes. First, she makes sure I get to school bright and early. Then she goes to work and slices the meats and cheese, preps all the other food, and makes sure the store is ready for the day. During the day, she takes all the orders and makes sure all of the customers feel special when they pick up their food. My dad is the main chef. He started working at the sub shop when he was fourteen and has worked there the past twenty years. He makes sure all the food is perfect and keeps track of all the important business stuff. They have made a successful business between the two of them, and I’m lucky my parents work so hard to provide for our family.

I’ve learned so much from them both. We worked every day during the pandemic. I did my school work in the booth and would help them when I finished. My dad taught me how to cook on the grill and Noelle taught me the importance of customer service. My dad has told me that in all of his years working at the sub shop, he’s never seen anyone who can do the things Noelle does. We were so lucky to stay open and make it through the lockdown, but now we are facing tough times with her accident.

Atlantic City Sub Shops has been part of this community for 35 years and it is our goal to keep it around for another 35. We have become immersed in the fabric of this community; feeding the less fortunate, sponsoring local teams, and becoming close friends with many of our customers (some of whom attended my dad and Noelle’s wedding). We are so appreciative for all of you.
I can’t wait to share this with Noelle, so she knows how much she means to me. I’m hoping you can help ensure our family business can continue. Thank you so much for whatever you are able to give. I truly appreciate your time and help.
