ACL reconstruction surgery to right knee and rehab

Hi, my name is Karen and I am asking for support to help my daughter Miriam who has sustained a ruptured ACL injury to her right knee. She is an avid footballer who is highly skilled and currently plays for Bolton Wanderers Girls Football Club, Accrington Stanley Women, Lancashire County and Rossendale District. She has previously played and trained with Blackburn Rovers Academy and was due to attend trials for Manchester City and aiming to go on the England Lionesses Pathway. She has been playing football since she was 4years old and for 10yrs this has been her life with her training and playing almost 5-6 days a week.

On the 4th November she sustained an injury and was seen at Bolton Hospital where she was misdiagnosed, told she had sprained her knee and the swelling would go down even though she couldn't weigh bear on it. I paid for her to see a sports physio who said it was her LCL and we paid for two sessions a week for rehab for her. She eventually got back to training after 7 weeks and attended a fitness session on the 28th December as advised. Unfortunately she twisted her knee and it just went from under her and she was in absolute agony.

She was taken to Blackburn Hospital where she had a MRI which has shown she has a high grade to almost full thickness mid substance ACL tear with sprain of the MCL. Low grade LCL sprain and bone contusion due to the impaction while she had the twisting injury. The consultant at the hospital has informed us that due to her age, (she is paediatric and needs a paediatric ortho surgeon), he cannot give her any treatment and in Lancashire there are no paediatric surgeons who can treat this niche area and he needs to find someone out of area.

I have found a consultant that specialises in this area and who can treat her but its is through a Private Hospital and will cost almost £10,000 for the operation to mend her ACL and then followed with physio sessions that will be needed after for a few months after.

I am a single mum with three children and cannot afford to pay the whole amount privately for her so I am hoping to raise the funds to help pay the majority of the surgery and rehab so that she can get back onto the playing field and back on the path to her dreams of becoming a Lioness in the future. I know money is tight for everyone right now but every little bit will help Miriam get back to doing what she loves the best. She will be able to make a full recovery from surgery and physio and as a parent I want to help her get the best treatment possible.
