The Langlois Family

In July 2023, just days before her 38th birthday, Jen shared with me that she was feeling unwell and had decided to rest on the sofa instead of going to the office. This was unheard of for Jen; in the decade I've known her, she has always powered through any ailment to ensure she was on top of everything at the office. By lunchtime that day, she decided it was best to visit the emergency room, where doctors discovered a large tumour requiring immediate surgery. The days that followed were like a nightmare. Although the diagnosis of Colon Cancer was alarming, the initial surgery results were optimistic. At a follow-up in late summer, her doctors were hopeful about having removed the cancer. However, because the tumour was near the lymph nodes, they recommended starting chemotherapy as a precaution. Jen tackled the treatment head-on, managing her family's travel agency and being the amazing mother and wife she is, with unparalleled strength.

On December 23rd, tests showed that the cancer persisted, raising concerns as it had grown despite the chemotherapy. In early January, her treatment shifted to palliative chemotherapy, aimed at reducing the cancer enough to permit a second surgery in April. With her resilience, Jen faced this new challenge, never complaining and continuing to work.

Regrettably, on March 13th, her doctors informed her that the cancer had spread to her lung and declared her condition terminal, ceasing all treatment. Jen is not ready to stop living; however, Jen and her husband Nick have decided it is time to shift focus to creating family memories with their two small children, Madison and Logan while continuing to seek Jen’s miracle.

Jen's journey has been incredibly challenging, yet her relentless spirit and unwavering courage have been a beacon of inspiration for us all. As we stand ready to support her and her family through this difficult time, we recognize the hurdles they face, especially with their travel business, Suite Trip Travel, just recently recovering from the global shutdown on March 13, 2020. Now, as they navigate new challenges, ensuring their clients' vacations run smoothly while momentarily stepping back, the financial strain is undeniable. Fortunately, numerous colleagues have rallied to support their operations during this period, though the need for additional staffing will be likely. Our goal is to safeguard the confidence their clients have in Suite Trip Travel, encouraging continued support for both the family and their enterprise. Beyond the potential loss of personal income by possibly hiring additional staff, the family is also encountering extra expenses in seeking treatment options in the United States and elsewhere, alongside exploring care possibilities for Jen in Canada. We are fully committed to supporting them, offering assistance in every possible way through this trying time.

Jen is an extraordinary person whose impact extends far beyond her roles as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Her generosity and kindness have touched many lives, both within her local community and our travel community. In this challenging time, we invite you to support the Langlois family through your contributions. No donation is too small, and every act of kindness is deeply appreciated. If you're unable to donate, sharing this message and keeping the Langlois family in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world to them. All proceeds from this fundraiser will directly support Jen and her beautiful family, helping to lessen their financial burdens during this challenging period. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.
