Thank you to everyone who helped us reach $5000! Our stretch goal is $6500, which will allow us to build a second ramp - so in addition to the one to the front door, there will be one to the back door, and Saed will be able to get to the backyard to play with our daughter.
Even though the wheelchair ramp company estimated $3600 for the second ramp, we think it can be done for $1500, with us buying the materials and doing our own installation.

Please help us make our new home accessible so that Saed can enter it, move between the rooms, and use the bathroom.
Saed is paraplegic, T6 level, and uses a wheelchair 100% of the time. Now we are trying to move to our new home, which is in need of adaptation to make it accessible.
In our new home, the doors are not wide enough, and need to be widened for Saed to be able to enter and move through the home. I estimate that the doors will need to be widened about 6” each. There are five inside doors that need widening – from the back entrance to the kitchen, to the hallway, to the bedroom, to the bathroom and to the second bedroom.
In addition, the bathroom needs to be renovated – the shower shell will have to be removed and replaced, a water spigot added and the sink changed, in order for Saed to be able to enter and use the bathroom.
The entrances also require wheelchair ramps.The back entrance has a 17” rise, and the front entrance has a 24” rise.
We will not be able to move to the home until we make it accessible for Saed. We are supposed to move in March 22nd, but we won't be able to move in until these changes are made. Since we spent all our savings on the house, we don't have any left for accessibility renovation. Please help us raise the required amount, to make our home accessible for Saed!!
