Abigail's Medical and Funeral Fund

We're the Chive Maryland and we need your help with this developing story that our community has been watching, praying and sending good will for since April.

Maryland Chivette Melissa Anne delivered twins in April on an emergency c-section at only 33 weeks pregnant. Damian Alexander Musser (4 lbs, 4 oz) was born first and declared stable by doctors. His twin sister Abigail Irene (3lbs, 10 oz), however, had a different outcome. Diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disorder and suffering from a collapsed lung right after birth, Abigail was rushed to critical care to keep her alive. Ever since that day in April, the little angel Abby has been on a ventilator to help her breathe while doctors monitor her condition and prepare her for a series of surgeries including a kidney transplant when she reaches 20 lbs. Every day has been a struggle for the family as they keep watch of Abby hoping for the best while also carrying for her twin brother who, with grace, is healthy and now at 8 lbs. Abby is still in critical condition and on 100% ventilation with her lungs and kidneys still in disarray.

Early on Melissa reached out to our community just for prayers, good vibes and thoughts for Abigail while keeping us up-to-date on her progress. We know, though, that medical bills must be piling up and that insurance doesn't typically cover all of the costs. This fund is set up to help alleviate any financial burdens being passed on to the family during this time of need so that they may focus on their little angel as she fights for her life.
