Abigail's family

Hello dear friends,
much love to you and thank you for visiting this GoFundMe page. I have never done this before.

However on my Birthday last week I learned of a serious situation related to our lovely Abigail from Flowers by Abigail in Rock Hill. Many of us have so enjoyed the care and love that she put into her flower arrangements for many special occasions over the years❣

On my Birthday morning she delivered a very beautiful Birthday arrangement from dear friends. I was sooo very happy to see her after at least a year. As she was leaving i gave her a $40 gift of cash knowing that her business has been struggling and loving our Siddha Yoga tradition of offering gifts on our Birthday!❣

On the day after my Birthday I awoke with her in my mind and realized that she might want to know about the Live Be in the Temple satsangs. There was one the next day, last Saturday, which she enjoyed sooo much she was sooo touched by all the Happiness! She then told me that she thought that I was the answer to her prayers.

She said she had been praying to Gurumayi all week feeling certain if she could tell her what was happening with her family in Bolivia that GM would help her find a way to help them.

She told me that the $40 I gave her on my Birthday had already paid for a week of groceries in Bolivia for her family! Wow I thought that was amazing and very heartening indeed.

She then went on to recount this story about her niece Mariol Nunez and her family. Mariol is in her 30s and lives wih her Husband, Victor, and their two children as well as Mariol's 73 yr old mother in Le Paz, Bolivia. Mariol's mother Gladyz has a cancerous tumor that is in operable and is close to her aorta so she requires a lot of daily care. Victor had a job as a chef at a local restaurant where they live in La Paz, Bolivia. They were all living on his wages as Mariol cared for mother and children. It was a daily struggle but they were managing okay and a happy loving family together.

Then in March, due to the CoVid virus, Victor lost his job when all the restaurants were closed down. And Gladiz, Mariol's 73 yr old mother, had also not received her pension. It seems the government stopped paying pensions in March.

So with no income coming in Victor and Mariol put their creative talents together and began to sell beautiful baked breads and pastries and different foods for sale to support the family. It was a huge amount of work taking care of the children, sick mother and cooking. They really pushed themselves and were gratefully managing to sqeak by. But then last week as Mariol was crossing the kitchen she tripped and tipped over a pot of hot oil onto both her legs.

With 3rd degree burns she was taken to the hospital. When she got to the hospital she was not admitted since the hospital was already at capacity due to all the Covid patients being treated. They sent Mariol back home. She spent several very painful days at home without medical treatment or pain relief (Ouch it hurts to even imagine this ). Finally they were able to be admitted through the help of a nurse they knew.

Mariol is still in that public hospital now surrounded by Covid patients and there is no staff to care for her or manage her pain properly. She has had 2 surgeries but they were not enough to take care of her injuries. She needs 5 more skin grafts and needs to be transferred to a private hospital that treats burns. Although she has insurance it will not cover the skin grafts or the intense physical therapy she will need afterwards.

They are not only concerned that Mariol may not be able to walk properly again without treatment but very worried for her safety because the patient next to her recently died of untended burns.

$300 has been sent to Bolivia via Nellida, Abigail's niece to Bolivia, but it is not enough to pay for the surgeries so she can't be transferred yet to the private hospital across town.

The surgeries will cost at least $1500 plus the intense physical therapy as well as food for the family.

My Goal at this point is $2500. I have someone who might be willing to match what we raise here. So I thought this story and need might be the answer to prayers you may have offered over these months as i have. A prayer to be able to help people who are suffering and in need. There are SO Many! I of course give donations but one never quite knows where it will go. This seems so immediate and since it has touched my heart serendipitously on my Birthday I thought I would share it with you all to do whatever we can for them. Even a little will go a long long way!

I know many of us are not working now either so no pressure just whatever feels right for you is perfect ❣. You can send your loving powerful prayers too❣

Thank you for reading this and for all you already do to bring light to this struggling world❣much love,
Chandesh
