Memorial Service for Abigail
This fund will honor our daughter, Abigail Guthrie. Abigail unexpectedly died of natural causes on December 15, 2019 at the age of 20. Abigail leaves behind her parents, Rachel and Troy, her brother, Brandt, and many other dear family and friends.
Abigail had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh that was infectious. She loved life- family and friends, "cotton candy" sunsets (ask any of her family and friends about those), relaxing/napping, eating with friends and family, vacations, and her dog Ochi.
Abigail #lovedwell and we want to honor her and celebrate her life by loving groups that she loved.
Jamaica- Abigail loved visiting and building relationships with the people of Beecher Town, Jamaica. We went on several mission trips as a family and she was always one of the strongest and most compassionate people on the trips. We will provide scholarships for individuals and families doing mission work in Beecher Town.
Chi Alpha- Abigail was an active member of the IU Chi Alpha group for 2 years. Although she did not attend IU, she was welcomed into this group and enjoyed her time studying Jesus. We will provide scholarships for Chi Alpha students at IU.
Nursing- Abigail was attending Ivy Tech to pursue a career in nursing. Just like her Nana and Aunt Amanda, Abigail would have been a great nurse because of her compassion and care for people. We will provide scholarships to Edgewood High School students who plan to attend Ivy Tech's nursing program.
Our initial goal of $10,000 for this fund has been met. We currently stand at $12,500. We have changed our overall goal to nearly $20,000 so we can provide larger or more frequent scholarships. This GoFundme goal is, therefore, $7,499 (she loved prime numbers). If we crush that goal, we will consider increasing the goal again.
Thank you all for your love and support over the past month and moving forward. We hope we can honor Abigail by loving and serving well.
Shalom,
Troy, Rachel, and Brandt Guthrie
