Abby Rojas & Silvi Bennett Memorial

Andrea Barberena-Rojas, "Abby" (16) and her mother, Silvana Bennett, "Silvi" (35) of Lakewood Ranch were such warm, loving people who touched the lives of many in our community.  Abby was a sweet, bubbly, happy girl who always had a smile and a laugh that was contagious. She was in JROTC and wanted to join the military and become a pilot. She was taking driver's Ed and was excited to get her license and drive on her own. She was funny and silly but also poised, articulate and responsible. At friend's houses she was always polite, outgoing and fun to have around. She looked after those she cared about and took great care of those she loved. She was a good student, a great friend and a truly amazing person. She loved her mother and her little sister, Caitlyn (3), dearly. The last words I heard of hers on Saturday were those of love, affection and pride for Caitlyn. She loved her budding personality and her growing dark curls. She was genuinely looking forward to her birthday party the next day with the sort of pure innocence that is so rare these days. Silvi loved her girls fiercely. She would sing and dance with them. Play and laugh with them. She was a true friend who was there when you needed her and a great mother, devoted to her kids. Abby and Silvi will be greatly missed by so very many whose lives were made better and brighter for knowing them. We will remember them and honor their memory. We will grieve but we will smile because they would want us to. They will be forever loved by each of us. This campaign hopes to help ease the pain of this terrible loss in some small way.  Funds are for memorial costs and to support Caitlyn.
