This Go Fund Me Page is being created for my youngest brother Aaron Rojas who is just 19 months old and my family to help them with their medical expenses. Aaron has been diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) a rare medical blood disease also known as Purpura. This is a bleeding disorder that affects the blood’s ability to clot because of a low number of blood cells called platelets. His body is filled of purple bruises caused by bleeding from small blood vessels under the skin.
He was first treated with steroids with different types of doses for several weeks not showing any type of improvement. In March his platelets went down to 6 thousand while being treated. This is when they decided to try a different treatment called immunoglobulin administered in doses of 12 grams every 24 hours for 3 days. When they started the treatment his platelets went back to normal and since everything looked normal he was discharged from the hospital. Three (3) weeks later his platelets went back down to 8 thousand and they had to repeat immunoglobulin treatment once again.

We want to help raise at least 20k, this will help with some of the important tests, medications, as well as bringing him to the US for treatment and look for other alternatives since we don’t see the baby getting any better. None of the treatments given to him seem to have been effective and they do not have the necessary tools to treat his chronic ITP condition in the Dominican Republic due to the treatments and medications not easily accessible.

Esta página de Go Fund Me se está creando para mi hermano menor Aaron Rojas de 19 meses y mi familia para ayudarlos con sus gastos médicos. Aaron ha sido diagnosticado con Trombocitopenia Inmune (PTI), una rara enfermedad médica de la sangre también conocida como Púrpura. Este es un trastorno hemorrágico que afecta la capacidad de coagulación de la sangre debido a la baja cantidad de células sanguíneas llamadas plaquetas. Su cuerpo está lleno de hematomas morados causados por sangrado de pequeños vasos sanguíneos debajo de la piel.
Primero fue tratado con esteroides con diferentes tipos de dosis durante varias semanas sin mostrar ningún tipo de mejoría. En marzo, sus plaquetas bajaron a 6 mil mientras eran tratadas. Esto es cuando decidieron probar un tratamiento diferente llamado inmunoglobulina administrada en dosis de 12 gramos cada 24 horas durante 3 días. Cuando comenzaron el tratamiento, sus plaquetas volvieron a la normalidad y, como todo parecía normal, lo dieron de alta del hospital. Tres (3) semanas más tarde, sus plaquetas bajaron a 8 mil y tuvieron que repetir el tratamiento con inmunoglobulina una vez más.

Queremos ayudar a recaudar al menos 20k, esto ayudará con algunas de las pruebas importantes, medicamentos, además de llevarlo a los EE. UU. Para recibir tratamiento y buscar otras alternativas ya que no vemos que el bebé mejore.
