Guidance for Joyful Living with MS
Donation protected
My name is Gloria Garrett and I am seeking financial assistance to expand my ability to help people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) improve their quality of life using Therapeutic Yoga and Meditation techniques. I personally live with the ebbs and flows from the effects of MS in my own body, and yet, I love myself, I love my body and I love my life. I attribute this to my yoga and meditation practice which helps me daily manage this condition. In addition to physical challenges, an MS diagnosis can bring fear and depression and many people with MS just give up. I believe I can help them find themselves, adapt to their condition and enjoy their lives. I have practiced yoga since childhood and am a Certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist. I want to take this to the next level by becoming a Yoga Therapist through the American Viniyoga Institute (AVI) https://www.viniyoga.com/ From this training I will learn how to adapt and sequence a practice to create a routine for each individual’s specific needs thereby helping them improve and manage their physical and mental condition and empowering them to feel a sense of control and independence regardless of MS. The Viniyoga Therapist Training Program is comprised of two components of four sessions each: The Foundations Program and The Clinical Applications Program. The tuition is $3,150 per session in addition to the cost of food and lodging. Like many people with disabilities, my main source of income is limited to government disability insurance. Without financial assistance, I cannot afford this additional training. I have saved enough of my own money to cover the lodging and at this time, my goal is to raise $3,150 to cover the first session of the Foundations Program which starts in April. I thank you in advance for any and all support. If you know someone who would benefit from this type of therapy, you can contact me directly through my website at: www.alpenglowhealingcenter.com
