Fat old man takes on a challenge!
As some of you know I have the privilege of turning 50 in October 2020, and I wanted to challenge myself this year. With my arthritis and extra 2 stone I will be running from Lands End to John O'Groats, a route that is 1083.8 miles. This will be a virtual challenge due to lockdowns, and my mileage recorded on Map my run, with progress reviews on My virtual mission. I hope to complete this run before the end of 2021, mainly in 4 mile intervals, 3 or 4 times a week. I have a coach in my cocker spaniel, Fionn, who is running with me.
So I will be raising money for Many Tears Animal Rescue, who are based near Llanelli but home dogs across the UK. They primarily rescue ex-breeding dogs but also take in dogs from the pounds, public hand-ins and some dogs from rescues abroad too. Many of the dogs need specialist vetinary care, most have never seen anything of the outside world or lived in homes so arrive very scared. Their new lives start when they arrive at the rescue where funding is always desperately needed to help them continue. Every donation no matter how big or small will help change a dogs life so please sponsor me to help me on my journey so I can help a dog take their first step on theirs.
