Milca's Caregiving Fund

Donation protected
Throughout their lives, Polito (Papi) and Milca (Mami) took care of each other...and they continued to do so until the night Papi passed away (June 10, 2014) from complications (renal failure) of Parkinson's disease.

During Papi's final days, he was still doing his best to care for his bride of over 50 years, letting us know of the care he could see Milca's nurses provide. And Mami, though she has advanced Alzheimers, would try and tell us about the care his nurses were providing, as well as to tuck Papi's sheets around him as he lay in bed.

Papi worked in patient accounting and ran the natural food store at Bella Vista Hospital in Puerto Rico. Mami was a nurse, a
department head of OB/GYN and Registration at Bella Vista hospital, taught nursing to her beloved students at Antillean Adventist University, and also ran the nursing skill lab at the university.

Polito and Milca were both very active in church, even helping to build them, as well as giving bible studies and living as missionaries to their community.

They raised two wonderful children - Obed (Oby) and Cindy - who are both also very active in their churches. Obed is a pastor and educator who resides in Puerto Rico, along with his wife Marcia and son Bryan. Obed and Marica's daughter Kimberly lives in Georgia and is engaged to Chris. Cindy lives in Georgia, as well, along with her husband (also a Bryan). Cindy's background is in accounting.

Two and a half years ago, Cindy and Bryan moved Papi and Mami in with them, where Cindy cared for her father and continues to
care for her mother.

Polito and Milca have always been generous and their home was always a welcome place for family, friends, students, pastors,
missionaries, and more. Their love for others was always genuine and warm and was inspired by their love for Jesus Christ.

Papi and Mami always did their best to generate income, raise their children and provide for their education, and provide for
their retirement.

In lieu of sending flowers, which are temporary (though thoughtful), we ask you to consider helping Papi to continue providing for his beloved wife by making a donation for her ongoing care. In addition to the loving support Cindy and Obed have been providing, care is also provided by two wonderful caregivers (Gloria and Martha) which Papi had hired.

Thank you and may
God bless you.
