Flood Victim Support

June 2008 Fond du Lac was hit by heavy rains and flooding, displacing families, and causing emotional and financial strain to many.  March 2019. Sudden higher temperatures caused significant melting and a river still covered in ice, jammed creating a flood many were not prepared for. 
Many who were affected in 2008, were affected again in 2019, our parents, Susan and Doro, included. The emotional stress of seeing water come towards your home and needing to make a instant decision to leave everything you know  and own behind, once again, money cannot fix. However, if the financial burden can be lightened, the emotional stress can lighten a bit as well. Insurance is not covering losses at this time, outside support assist with the small yet significant needs such as food and cleaning supplies. However, my parents are not able to stay at their own home as their water heater and furnace have been ruined and need to be replaced. Cold March temperatures do not make it possible to stay. Other large losses include washer, dryer, and a vehicle. Many small items were loss as well. We are asking for community support for our parents in any way. A lot of people helping in small ways can make a huge difference.
