Pilgrimage to Rome

This will be a dream fulfilled. We have an opportunity to go on a pilgrimage with our Neocatechumanal Way community to Sicily, Rome, and Assisi. It will include an audience with Pope Francis on May 5th. We have been able to raise 1/2 of the funds but must raise the rest during April in order to go. The funds will cover travel expenses. If more funds are raised the additional will go to the youth who are struggling to raise funds for the trip.

I realize that this is rather short notice. I must confess that I have been very hesitant to ask for help. However, others have reached out to me and have strongly encouraged me to do this. 

As many of you know, Alene has been struggling chronic Lyme disease for many, many years. At times she was so close to death that we had last rites performed. Thankfully, she has been able to slowly recover. The treatment has been very expensive and we have given up much in order to pay for the medications and treatment. 

I must admit it has been much easier for me to help others than to ask for help... perhaps this a good and humbling lesson for me. 

Now that we are in our 70s, I suspect this will be our first and perhaps last overseas trip. Yikes!

Any assistance, even simple prayers, will be gratefully appreciated.
