Ziggy’s Medical Treatment

For those of you who know me, you’ll know how important my animals are in my life. Especially my Ziggy.
Ziggy is a unique, loving, quirky, affectionate, constantly purring Maine Coon, who is 10 years old, and has brought joy to my life from the first moment I held her in my arms.
On August 26th, I began a cross country drive to start my new life in California. I left my animals with my mom, so as to not stress them out, with the intention of flying back home to fly them back with me when I was settled.
On Sunday, September 13th, Ziggy had an incident that alarmed my mother, she was brought to the vet on the 14th for bloodwork and the results showed that she was extremely anemic. On death’s door. The cause was nebulous, but the doctor was not very optimistic.
I flew back to NJ on the 16th, and spent the day at Red Bank Animal Hospital with Ziggy on the 17th. She had a blood transfusion and testing, which cost $2078.28.
The blood transfusion helped get some life force back into my precious girl, but test results are now causing concern that Zig may have an issue in her bone marrow. Further treatment will cost upwards of $2500+ for the bone marrow aspiration and hospitalization.
I’ve never asked for help before, but this time I really need it. I am not ready to lose my baby girl, and I am prepared to do whatever I can to help her pull through this nightmare.
